“My favourite saying is “life begins at the end of your comfort zone” the last 10 Weeks has been a unique roller coaster of a challenge. When Nick suggested I should be a part of it I wasn’t sure if this was something I was cut out for or even capable of. The work has been hard but the reward outweighed all the hard work by far! I literally eat, sleep and talk kickboxing to anyone that lets me. I’m physically much fitter, emotionally much stronger, and above all proud of myself and the great bunch of people I met through the challenge. I’ve lost weight gained strength and will not miss the next challenge!”

“I started this challenge to get my first fight and cut weight. Unknowingly, I have learned so much about myself mentally and physically with the tests I have been through and I have also met some amazing people and made great friendships. It was an awesome stepping stone on getting me fighting fit and into the ring and one step closer to my goal of being Qld State champion.”

“From start to finish this program has been a challenge both physically and mentally. I can honestly say that I have loved every minute of it! Not only do you get to get fit and lose weight but you also learn to work your mind to achieve your goals. The people I have met have been amazing and the trainers have been so supportive and inspirational! I could not have achieved this without all their support and guidance. I won’t ever be able to thank them enough for the confidence they have given to me… you guys are so amazing!”

“Where do I even begin? I had been training with Nick and Lauren for about 4 months, one day Nick asked if I wanted to participate in the kickboxing challenge. I had always wanted to do kickboxing but had always been too scared to just show up at a gym, so to me this was perfect! At the start of the course I weighted 73.5kg and thought my fitness level was quite good; but boy was I kidding myself!! A few years prior I was 90kg and already felt accomplished sitting on 73.5kg, I then became the type of person that’d be really strict on my diet for 4 -6 weeks then had a night out and be off track for a week and almost ruined all my hard work. I made a commitment to myself to follow the diet given and be 100% committed to the course for the whole duration! The course was hard work both physically and mentally but very rewarding. Seeing your fitness level increase before your eyes was such an incredible feeling. The first few days learning the techniques left me feeling uncoordinated but then seeing how much myself and others in the course had improved was amazing! The trainers are all so great and so supportive, it makes you want to get up at 4.30am for your training as you don’t want to let them down. The support after the course, although I am travelling> overseas, still to this day continues, and I’ve made life long friends through this challenge! The biggest achievement for me was losing 7.5kg as I had been fluctuating up and down 3kg for the last year. For me to end up on 66 kg at the end of the course was such an amazing feeling!

Getting in the ring was tough to say the least. Right up until the moment I got in I was panicking, and then as soon as I stepped in, it all felt right. I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my life and I recommend it to everyone. No matter what fitness level you’re at you won’t regret it. You only get out what you put in, so be prepared to test yourself physically and mentally. It’ll be all worth it in the end.”

“Wanna be a kickboxer has been part of my life for a while now.
First the kickboxing challenge made me improved my fitness and boosted my courage. I never thought I was going to be part of such an unforgettable event.
Then fitness challenge came. For me, loosing some kilos was my goal. After each session I felt so good and fit and most importantly so happy. I don’t really go to the scales anymore, I just feel great! I have also met some amazing people and I totally recommend it to anyone who wants to have a great time and improve their fitness.”

“What an experience and what a journey! I showed up at 5am on that first day not knowing what was to lay ahead of me. In such a short time I have learnt so many new things about myself; physically, emotionally and spiritually. I have also learnt new skills that I never would have dreamt I’d know. I’ve laughed, cried and sweated more than I thought I ever would! And most importantly I’ve done it all with the support and friendship of some extremely awesome people who I can now count on as being friends. So if I ever get asked if I wanna be a Kickboxer I can now reply with Hell no.. I AM a Kickboxer! A big tick for the bucket list and a new addition to my resume.”
